  7. INSTRUCTIONS
  8.  
  9. 4A Calculator is a math calculation program for Windows.  Much like a pocket
  10. calculator, 4A Calculator can be used to do basic math such as addition,
  11. subtraction, multiplication, and division.  In addition, like more
  12. sophisticated calculators, 4A Calculator is capable of performing percentile
  13. math, square root, square, and 1/x math.  Numbers and functions can be 
  14. entered by using the mouse, keyboard, or numeric keypad.  4A Calculator also
  15. has the ability to stay on top of all other windows programs.

  18. INSTALLATION
  19.  
  20. Place the files 4ACALC.EXE and 4ACALC.HLP on any floppy disk, hard disk, or
  21. network drive, then place the file THREED.VBX in your WINDOWS/SYSTEM
  22. directory.  Access to the program can be accomplished through Windows,
  23. OS/2, or the Windows shell program of your choice.

  25. To ensure proper operation, make sure that the 'Current Directory' or
  26. 'Default Directory' setting in the Properties box is set to the directory
  27. that contains 4ACALC.EXE and 4ACALC.HLP.
  28.  
  29. SINCE 4A CALCULATOR WAS WRITTEN USING VISUAL BASIC, THE FILE VBRUN300.DLL
  30. MUST BE ACCESSIBLE TO THE WINDOWS SYSTEM.  VBRUN300.DLL can be found on
  31. CompuServe, America OnLine, most bbs systems, or directly from 4A Software
  32. (to order from 4A Software, see the file REGLAUN.TXT).

  35. REGISTRATION AND LICENSE AGREEMENT
  36.  
  37. The use of 4A Calculator is subject to the following terms and conditions:
  38.  
  39. 4A Calculator is copyrighted material, protected by the copyright laws of
  40. the United States. You may not make any changes or modifications,
  41. decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reverse-engineer the software
  42. in any way.
  43.  
  44. 4A Calculator can be used on a trial basis provided the user does not
  45. violate the protection afforded the licensed software by the copyright laws, 
  46. and the user agrees to the terms of the license agreement. If the user
  47. continues to use 4A Calculator past a 30 day evaluation period the user is 
  48. obligated to purchase a license.

  50. 4A Calculator can be used on a Local Area Network provided that a license is 
  51. obtained for the number of users that may concurrently use the software.
  52.  
  53. A license for the user of 4A Calculator can be obtained by sending the
  54. appropriate fee to:

  60. Title to the licensed software is NOT transferred to the end user. The 
  61. end user is granted an exclusive license to use the software on one
  62. computer at any given time.

  65. DISTRIBUTION
  66.  
  67. Users are granted a limited license to copy 4A Calculator only for the trial
  68. use by others subject to the terms of this software license agreement
  69. described herein, and the conditions described below are met:

  71. 4A Calculator MUST be copied in an unmodified form and MUST contain the
  72. following files:
  73.  
  74.    4ACALC  .EXE
  75.    4ACALC  .HLP
  76.    4ACALC  .TXT
  77.    THREED  .VBX
  78.  
  79. No fee, charge or other compensation may be accepted or requested by
  80. anyone without the express written permission of 4A Software.
  81.  
  82. Public Domain Disk Vendors, Shareware Disk Vendors and Distributors of
  83. public domain and user supported software may not charge a fee for 4A
  84. Calculator itself. However, you may include 4A Calculator on a diskette for
  85. which you charge a nominal distribution fee. The purchaser of said
  86. diskette must be informed in advance that the fee paid to acquire the
  87. diskette does NOT relieve said purchaser from paying the registration
  88. fee for 4A Calculator if said purchaser uses 4A Calculator.

  90. Operators of electronic bulletin board systems may post 4A Calculator for 
  91. downloading by their users without written permission only as long as
  92. the above conditions are met. A fee may be charged for access to the bbs
  93. as long as no specific fee is charged for downloading 4A Calculator files.

  96. LIMITED WARRANTY
  97.  
  98. 4A Software does not warrant that the licensed software will meet
  99. any requirements or that the operation of the software will be
  100. uninterrupted or error free. The warranty does not cover any media or
  101. documentation which has been subject to damage or abuse by you or others.
  102. The software warranty does not cover any copy of the licensed software
  103. which has been altered or changed in any way.
  104.  
  105. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR
  106. FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED TO THE TERM OF THE EXPRESS
  107. WARRANTIES. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied
  108. warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

  110. The warranties set forth above are in lieu of any and all other express
  111. or implied warranties, whether oral, written, or implied, and the remedies
  112. set forth above are the sole and exclusive remedies.
  113.  
  114. 4A Software is not responsible for any problems or damages caused
  115. by the licensed software that may result from using the licensed
  116. software. This includes, but is not limited to, computer hardware,
  117. computer software, operating systems, and any computer or computing
  118. accessories. End user agrees to hold 4A Software harmless for any
  119. problems arising from the use of the software.

  121. 4A Software SHALL NOT IN ANY CASE BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, 
  122. INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT OR OTHER SIMILAR DAMAGES ARISING
  123. FROM ANY BREACH OF THESE WARRANTIES EVEN IF 4A SOFTWARE OR ITS AGENTS
  124. OR DISTRIBUTORS HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
  125. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
  126. consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply
  127. to you.

  129. In no case shall 4A Software's liability exceed the license fees
  130. paid for the right to use the licensed software.
